There are 49 international scientific journals published at the University of Ljubljana. Almost all journals are Diamond Open Access, meaning that the journals provide immediate open access to their content, on the principle that making research freely available to the public promotes greater global exchange of knowledge. The University of Ljubljana Press coordinates the Open Journal Systems portal, where you can currently find 19 journals.

    ACTA LINGUISTICA ASIATICA is a journal devoted to the study of East Asian languages—among which Chinese, Japanese and Korean are of the main focus—, their translation, and teaching.

  • Amfiteater - Journal of Performing Arts Theory

    AMFITEATER is a scientific journal that publishes original articles on performing arts with a broad spectrum from dramatic theatre, drama, dance, performance, and hybrid art forms. Authors can analyze the forms and content of artwork and art phenomena from the field of performing arts, their history, their present, and their future, as well as their relationship to other art forms and the broader (social, cultural, political…) context.

  • Acta Neophilologica

    ACTA NEOPHILOLOGICA is primarily oriented in promoting scholarly articles on English and American literature, on other literatures written in English as well as on German and Romance literatures.

  • Studies in Adult Education and Learning

    STUDIES IN ADULT EDUCATION AND LEARNING is an international scientific journal of adult education.     The international academic journal ASIAN STUDIES is a distinctive, interdisciplinary journal devoted to the study of Asian societies and cultures. It publishes thoroughly researched and double blind, strictly peer-reviewed academic articles that represent a high level of scholarly excellence.

    Named after the youngest of the Parcae, journal CLOTHO got its name after the deity responsible for spinning the thread of life; thus the journal seeks to create a new space of creativity, exploration, and learning in the field of classical studies.

    Journal DELA is devoted to the presentation of scientific achievements in all fields of geography and related disciplines. The journal covers the entire spectrum of geographical thought, with emphasis on the latest results of scientific work of researchers from home department as well as other scientists from Slovenia and abroad.

    ELOPE: English Language Overseas Perspectives and Enquiries is a double-blind, peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes original research articles, studies and essays that address matters pertaining to the English language, literature, teaching and translation.

  • Documenta Praehistorica

    DOCUMENTA PRAEHISTORICA is a yearly journal of archaeological interdisciplinary scientific research. It is one of the main world-wide international journals of interpretations of modern archaeological research data related to the processes and to the events in the World prehistory.

  • Jezik in slovstvo

    JEZIK IN SLOVSTVO je slovenistična revija, ki že od leta 1955 izpolnjuje svoj temeljni program: ponujati razprave in zapise o slovenskem jeziku in literaturi ter s tem povezani pedagoški teoriji in praksi. Članki morajo zadostovati visokim strokovnim kriterijem, za kar skrbi recenzentski postopek, hkrati pa si v uredništvu prizadevamo, da bi bila besedila še privlačnejša za branje in bi tako spodbujala nadaljnje strokovno premišljevanje in raziskovanje.

    KERIA (Greek for "honeycomb") is Slovenian journal for all fields of Greek and Latin studies. It is committed to fostering dialogue between scholarship, teaching, and other areas of culture. It is issued twice a year and publishes scholarly research, translations, didactic contributions, essays, book reviews, and other submissions relevant to the study of classical antiquity and its reception, Latin and Byzantine Middle Ages, Latin humanism, and Modern Greek language and culture.

  • Kinesiologia Slovenica: scientific journal on sport

    KINESIOLOGIA SLOVENICA is an international, peer-reviewed journal. The journal publishes articles on various aspects of sports sciences covering a wide range of disciplines across the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities.

    LINGUISTICA is an internationally distinguished scientific journal that publishes articles of all traditional and modern disciplines of linguistics.

  • Les/Wood

    LES/WOOD is an open-access, international peer-reviewed scientific journal published twice a year by the University of Ljubljana Press and issued by the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The journal accepts original scientific articles and review articles in the wider field of wood science and technology and related fields.

  • Horizons of Psychology

    HORIZONS OF PSYCHOLOGY publishes articles from all fields of psychology, as well as interdisciplinary articles and articles from neighbouring fields.     SLOVENŠČINA 2.0: EMPIRICAL, APPLIED AND INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH is an online linguistic journal, established with the intention of filling the gap between theoretical and interdiscplinary research of the Slovene language, especially research involving language technologies.     TEKSTILEC gives fundamental and applied scientific information in the physical, chemical and engineering sciences related to the textile industry. Its professional and research articles refer to fibres and testing, chemical and mechanical textile technology, technical textiles and their application, as well as to other fields associated with the textile technology and design, textile and clothing industry e.g. development, application and manufacture of natural and man-made fibres, yarns and fabrics, design, marketing, ecology, ergonomics, education in textile sector, cleaning of textiles, etc.

  • Verba Hispanica

    VERBA HISPANICA, a journal of linguistics and literature, publishes theoretical and applied research in Spanish language and occasionally in other languages of the Iberian Peninsula. It also publishes translations of Slovenian literary works in Spanish.

  • Journal for Foreign Languages

    JOURNAL FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGES is a multidisciplinary journal in the field of linguistics, literature and foreign language teaching. Journal encourages the integration of linguistic disciplines and enhances the dialogue between different theoretical orientations and practice.
