Abstract

The first part of the article (AS, Vol. 13, No. 1, 2006) identifies eight different career anchors and  establishes important correlation with some professions and occupations. The second part of the article (AS, No.2, 2006) focuses on considerable impact career anchors have at planning education and learning routes. The last part draws special attention to the relationship between different career anchors and career objectives. Not only career objectives expressed and dreamt of, but also those, which have actually been achieved in practice. We are also going to survey the impact of education and training for achieving career objectives. We will also make some comparison and analyses among career anchors and vertical vs. horizontal promotion and try to find out whether the career anchors influence also the direction of promotion in the organization. Finally we will show how the results of the survey about career anchors can be a useful tool for individuals and organizations at career planning.
