Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present the importance of mentor education for practical training of students at the Lju bljana Faculty of Arts. In the first part, the article gives a chronological account of the training projects in the years 2004– 2010, together with the reasons for their implementation. Two types of training are presented, for the teaching studies as well as the nonteaching studies option. The subsequent central part deals with the results of mentor training education in the years 2007–2010 for the nonteaching studies, i.e. for the mentors from various organisations, implementing a training programme for students of the Faculty of Arts and others. The article also presents the mentors’ expectations and their suggestions for evaluating the mentors’ role in the course of practical training as well as their practical skills and recommendations on how to arrange the mentoring system itself.
