Who's Afraid of Dyslexia?

Abstract

The paper treats the issue of particular learning disability, or dyslexia. As Findeisen herself suf fers from dyslexia, she first tells her own story, emphasizing the question of insufficient visual perception, linking and expression of thoughts. She continues with some of the many defini tions of dyslexia, opens the question of early recognition and evaluation of the disa bility, and suggests certain learning methods which can help word blind people. Findeisen concludes the paper by stressing the importance of adopting an educational act on dyslexia.
