Action Research as a Way to Quality

Abstract

Action research is one of the ways of changing practical education and improving its quality. It is a form of reflective study for teachers (pedagogues and andragogues) who want to improve the ir practical work, understanding this work and also objective possibilities regarding the circumstances. Action research consists of four phases: 1. making the plan to improve what is already taking place 2. the measures to implement the plan 3. monitoring the effects of these measures where they have been applied 4. reflection on the effects which is the basis for further planning and a new action. In the last decade some teachers and management in elementary and secondary schools have already been trained in this field. We can't estimate, however, to which extent action research is being practised. The organisers of adult education and teachers should be encouraged to implement action research as well.
