Abstract

In today's China confucianism is not very popular, but the intellectuals are divided into two groups, the first claiming that Confucius’s influence is still powerful, and the second maintaining that he has no longer an impact on modern life. Who is right? Confucius stood primarily for moral values in each individual, and the same moral value which he propagated are still firmly rooted in the Chinese society. Thus, how would it be possible to completely banish Confucius from modern education?
