Abstract

The article deals with the training and learning influence of senior citizens on their personal growth, and in connection with this on the concept of active ageing, which is manifested as a path towards the contribution of the seniors to the society. Authors establish the role of trainings in their spare time structuring and making it richer, as well as its influences on seeing themselves as an active link of the society. Also paid and volunteer work are activities, which allow seniors to become active members of the society again. The research focuses on the question of ageing as seen by senior citizens and how they see ageing actively and the significance such process has in the every-day life. The purpose of the research is also to study how, according to the opinions of the interviewees, the education at the The University of The Third Age influences their personal growth and how education motivates and encourages their cooperation in the society.
