The paper discusses the specifics of the “salon music” phenomenon, exemplified in bourgeois musical practice in Carniola during and after the “period of virtuosity”. It shows the influences of the fashionable salon repertoire in its performance and reception before the mid-nineteenth century, as well as the echoes of substantial transformation and aesthetical revaluation of salon music in keeping with the reproduction, production and reception levels of a musical work.Downloads
