The paper deals with the Violin Concerto in D Minor (D. 45) by Giuseppe Tartini. The composition is typical of his third period of creativity. The study represents an attempt to analyze or rather interpret Tartini's approach to composition in a single example by taking into account the co-ordinates of time and space as well as the theoretical views of his period. The results obtained corroborate the hitherto synthetically expressed evaluation of the work by this eighteenth-century Piran-Paduan composer.Downloads
