The numerous musical scenes in Iliad are approached from three different aspects: (i) to a limited extent they allow the technical description of the music played or sung; (ii) they are discussed from the viewpoint of the music's social function; (iii) they disclose the conception of music in the homeric world and its aesthetic impact on homeric people.Downloads
