A contribution to the knowledge of Tanaidacea (Tanaidacea: Peracarida: Crustacea) in Slovenian sea

Distribution of four tanaid species Apseudes latreilli (Milne Edwards, 1828), Tanais dulongii (Audoin, 1826), Heterotanais oerstedi (Krøyer, 1842) and Leptochelia savigny (Krøyer, 1842) (Tanaidacea: Peracarida: Crustacea) in Slovenian sea is presented. Leptochelia savigny and Tanais dulongii are common species along the entire Slovenian coast and can be found in deeper waters as well. Apseudes latreilli was found on detritus-shell bottom of Piran Bay, while the otherwise abundant population of Heterotanais oerstedi was observed only in brackish waters in the mouth of Dragonja River and is actually the first record of this species for Slovenia.
