Abstract

Samples were taken seasonally at four aerial sampling sites – a concrete wall, stony wall, limestone rock and trunk of the lime tree (Tilia platyphyllos) in the years 1999 and 2000. Altogether, 58 species and subspecies of algae (of three classis) were determined. On the concrete wall and the lime tree trunk, most of the species and subspecies belonged to Cyanophyceae, while on the stony wall and limestone rock those belonging to Bacillariophyceae were predominant. On the concrete wall, stony wall and the lime tree trunk, the species Pleurococcus vulgaris was prevalent. Gloeocapsa bituminosa, Microcystis hansgirgiana, Phormidium lignicola, P. valderiae, Cymbella gaeumannii, Navicula aerophila, N. nivalis and N. suecorum var. dismutica are new species and subspecies to Slovenia.
