CALL FOR PAPERS: EXPLORING DIGITAL DISCOURSE IN SPANISH: METHODS, CHALLENGES, AND NEW DYNAMICS

The journal Verba Hispanica invites you to contribute to its upcoming thematic issue dedicated to digital discourse in Spanish.
This monographic volume aims to bring together different studies and research on digital discourse in Spanish, focusing on methods of analysis, emerging challenges in the current digital context, and the grammatical and discursive particularities of this form of communication.
As communication technologies transform online interactions, it becomes essential to adapt linguistic and communicative studies to the new realities of digital language. This volume aims to address the emerging challenges in research in this field, to offer a deeper understanding of the use, manifestation, and adaptation of language in digital environments, and to provide methodological tools for analysing them. In addition, it aims to explore the diverse forms of digital discourse in Spanish, ranging from social media and forums to blogs, chats, messaging apps, video games, and other virtual spaces.
Possible thematic areas:
- Structuring of digital discourse, discourse genres, typological-textual aspects
- Grammatical, lexical, or phonetic aspects of digital discourse
- Multimodality of digital discourse
- Non-verbal resources in digital communication
- Critical discourse analysis of digital discourse (power structures, ideologies, persuasive discourse, argumentation, etc.)
- Conversation analysis in digital environments (turn-taking, etc.)
- Digital pragmatics, cyberpragmatics
- Online sociolinguistics and network analysis (digital platforms and social dynamics, identity construction, etc.)
- Methodological and conceptual challenges in digital discourse research
The journal is indexed in the following databases: MLA (Modern Languages Association), DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), ERIH PLUS, BL Bibliographie Linguistique, REDIB, and Dialnet, among others.

Abstracts (150-200 words) should include the title, scope of the proposed topic, research objectives, methodology, and five keywords.
