En febrero 2009 Ariel publicó un libro imprescindible para la disciplina que se ocupa del léxico, la lexicología, en particular, y para la lingüística en general. La editora y también autora de uno de los capítulos es la doctora Elena de Miguel, catedrática de la lengua española de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. El libro lleva el título de Panorama de la lexicología y parte de la postura de que la lexicología es una disciplina independiente que se dedica a estudiar el léxico si bien no es la única disciplina que se ocupa de este tema. El volumen de 519 páginas tiene 17 capítulos repartidos en cuatro unidades temáti- cas que presentan exhaustivamente el panorama de las investigaciones sobre la lexicología y el estado actual de esta disciplina en la primera década del siglo XXI. Se trata de un libro muy actual, de un tema muy complejo, enfocado desde diferentes ángulos y escrito por eminentes investigadores y conocidos lingüistas.
