Abstract

MIHA MAZZINI

 

El escritor, guionista, director y experto en informática Miha Mazzini nació en 1961 en Kranj, Eslovenia. Se graduó en informática y luego hizo el posgrado en guión. Es pro- fesor de guión cinematográfico y miembro de la Academia del Cine Europeo.

Mazzini escribió seis novelas, dos libros de cuentos, una colección de ensayos, un libro para niños y una novela para jóvenes. Además, escribió un libro de prosa breve y le- tras para un grupo de punk inexistente. También es autor de varios manuales de informáti- ca y un libro sobre cómo escribir guiones. En 1986 recibió el premio a la mejor novela del año por Drobtinice (El proyecto Cartier) y en 1988 fue galardonado con el premio Zlata ptica a los artistas consagrados. Guarding Hanna, versión inglesa de su novela Telesni cuvaj (El guardaespaldas), fue nominada para el International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award 2004. Además, recibió varios premios cinematográficos en su desempeño como guionista y director.

Mazzini forma parte del grupo de los «escritores eslovenos jóvenes», que comprende autores nacidos alrededor del año 1960, pero cuyas poéticas son muy heterogéneas entre sí. La poética de Mazzini fue anunciada ya con su primera novela Drobtinice (1987). Sus rasgos recurrentes son la temática actual, una historia clara, un suspenso bien logrado, la perspectiva humorística e irónica, el cinismo y el sincretismo de géneros. El protagonista de sus historias suele ser un misántropo introvertido y temeroso que no puede manejar su propia existencia.

Las obras de Mazzini han sido traducidas al checo, croata, inglés, italiano, polaco, ruso y serbio. Además del cuento Una historia muy simple, en español hay hasta el mo- mento tan sólo una versión del cuento Camino a la montaña; los dos forman parte del libro Trenutki spoznanja (Momentos de revelación) (2007).
