El día 3 de diciembre de 2003, aniversario del poeta France nacido el 3 de diciembre de 1800, fue presentada en la ciudad de Kranj (Carniola Superior Eslovena) en edición bilingüe la traducción española de sus poesías, obra de Juan Octavio Prenz que escribió también un breve, exhaustivo comentario para acompañar a los Cantos en su trayectoria por el mundo cultural hispánico. La traducción forma parte de la Colección Prešeren en el mundo y representa el octavo volumen de la colección, precedida por las traducciones al serbocroata, ruso, polaco, italiano, francés, alemán, inglés. Los editores son el Municipio de la ciudad de Kranj –durante los últimos años de su vida el poeta trabajó en Kranj como abogado y murió allí en 1849– y la editorial eslovena Mohorjeva založba-Hermagoras, Klagenfurt-Ljubljana-Viena, con sede en la ciudad de Celovec (Klagenfurt) en la Carantania austriaca, que se dedica también a publicar libros en esloveno y las traducciones de autores eslovenos sobre todo al alemán. Se publica esta colección bajo la redacción del prof. France Pibernik y del prof. Franc Drolc. En nuestra revista ya se presentó al poeta Prešeren, también traducido por el prof. Juan Octavio Prenz, en el volumen IV, con los Sonetos de infelicidad.
