Deseo antes de iniciar esta comunicación aclarar dos puntos que me parecen impor tantes: 1) La cuestión de la objetivación de una realidad en la cual, a pesar de todo, no estoy directamente involucrado. Escribo sobre América Latina desde Francia, desde Europa. Yo dudo que la distancia en sí sea forzosamente una garantía para la "objetividad científica". Porque corremos el riesgo real de proyección, de tergiversaciones o simplemente de ignorancia de las transformaciones incesantes de esa misma realidad que pretendemos examinar. Por lo cual, y con esto aclaro el segundo punto, 2) Lo que voy a presentar no es sino una tentativa, un esbozo de un trabajo venidero. No les voy entonces a proponer conclusiones terminantes. Por el contrario, espero que mi problemática suscite interés y que pueda beneficiarme del debate para corregir, matizar y, como no, afianzar mejor tal o cual aspecto de mi trabajo.
