Con la recién publicación del volumen The Routledge Handbook of Spanish Language Teaching: metodologías, contextos y recursos para la enseñanza del español L2, estamos ante una obra de referencia obligatoria para académicos y docentes del ámbito de la enseñanza del español como segunda lengua (L2), que aborda el tema de la lingüística aplicada desde una perspectiva interdisciplinaria. Se trata de un trabajo ambicioso y exhaustivo donde expertos de la lingüística hispánica, de reconocida proyección internacional, han intentado crear puentes que pongan en contacto “la investigación lingüística y la innovación didáctica” (p. 19) a través de revisiones sistemáticas y panorámicas de los fundamentos teóricos, metodológicos e investigaciones empíricas más novedosos y destacables sobre los diferentes temas desarrollados a lo largo de sus 702 páginas, así como posibles aplicaciones pedagógicas concretas para llevar al aula.
