Možnost vplivanja priložnostnega učenja angleščine preko spremljanja medicinske televizijske serije na razvoj jezikovne zmožnosti v medicinski pomorski angleščini

Povzetek

Z razmahom spletnih tehnologij in bogatih možnosti za uporabo predvsem angleščine v vsakdanjem spletnem življenju je področje priložnostnega učenja angleščine pritegnilo veliko raziskovalne pozornosti. Kljub temu pa je korpusnih raziskav na tem področju malo, korpusnih raziskav, ki bi preučevale ustreznost jezikovnega vnosa preko priložnostnega učenja angleščine za razvoj jezikovnih spretnosti in prvin v angleščini kot tujem jeziku stroke, pa po našem vedenju sploh ni. Cilj prispevka je torej s pomočjo korpusnega pristopa ugotoviti, ali lahko spremljanje specifične zvrsti medicinske televizijske serije vpliva na razvoj angleščine kot tujega jezika stroke za bodoče častnike ladijskega krovnega oddelka na področju medicinske pomorske angleščine. Rezultati kažejo, da ima lahko spremljanje specifične zvrsti medicinske televizijske serije z vidikov leksikalne gostote, leksikalne raznolikosti, terminološkosti in najpogostejših besednih skupov majhen vpliv na razvoj angleščine kot tujega jezika stroke za bodoče častnike ladijskega krovnega oddelka na področju medicinske pomorske angleščine, da pa bi v prihodnje veljalo raziskati, ali lahko spremljanje televizijskih serij vpliva na usvajanje tipičnih govornih vzorcev pomorske govorne komunikacije, ki je blizu vsakdanjemu govoru. Ti rezultati nas opozarjajo, da priložnostno učenje angleščine ne more nadomestiti nekaterih ključnih vidikov formalnega učenja tujega jezika (stroke). To velja morda še posebej za tiste tuje jezike stroke, ki so regulirani z mednarodnimi konvencijami in iz njih izhajajoče zahtevane ravni jezikovne zmožnosti. Po drugi strani pa lahko ravno priložnostno učenje angleščine bistveno prispeva k izgradnji splošne jezikovne zmožnosti, ki je eden izmed pomembnih predpogojev za nadaljnji razvoj jezikovne zmožnosti v smeri tujega jezika stroke.
