Univerzitetni prostor postaja vedno trdneje umeščen v tokove globalizacije, del katerih je tudi internacionalizacija visokošolskega prostora. Mednarodne študentske izmenjave kot pomemben dejavnik teh sprememb poleg obetov širjenja obzorij, področnih znanj in mnogih drugih dobrobiti med drugim prinašajo tudi potrebo po razvijanju sporazumevalne zmožnosti v tujem strokovnem jeziku. V tem kontekstu je bil univerzitetni učbenik Introduction au français des affaires avtoric Nadje Dobnik in Anne-Cécile Lamy-Joswiak zasnovan kot odgovor na potrebe študentov ekonomije, ki bi zaradi stikov s frankofonim študijskim okoljem želeli pridobiti ali osvežiti osnovna znanja francoskega jezika.
