REALISATION OF THE WATER FRAMEWORK DIRECTIVE IN POLAND

Abstract

After the national legislation has been harmonised to EU regulation, the implementation of EU-Water Framework Directive, Water Protection Law and Environment Protection Act were introduced in Poland. Until now they determined water districts and corresponding units and join the international Twinning Programme. The typologies and dissection of watercourses, protected areas and reference conditions have been determined. Water management and necessary measures have been analysed.  Results of the above mentioned measures have been reported to European Commission.
