Author Guidelines

IMPORTANT: Submission Requirements

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  2. Authors are required to use the ALA template and follow the instructions stated there.
  3. To ensure a double-blind review process, information about the author(s), affiliation, country, and email in the .docx and .pdf files are to be omitted. However, these data must be filled out in the online journal system. The list of authors submitted in the system is final and is not subject to change.
  4. Once the submission has been accepted for publication, the author can no longer withdraw it.
  5. We accept online submissions only.

Additional Notes

  • The recommended length for articles is at least 4.000-5.000 words (or 20.000-30.000 characters including spaces).
  • We accept papers written in English or Slovene only. Submissions should be written in eligible academic language.

Submission Steps

  • Login or Register to make a submission.
  • Step 1: Select the Submission language (English/Slovene); select the Submission section; check off Submission requirements; insert Comments for the Editor (optional); acknowledge and check off the Copyright statement.
  • Step 2: Upload two files (.docx file as Article Text; and .pdf file as PDF of article text)
  • Step 3: Enter Metadata. Required fields include Title, Abstract, List of contributors (select Add Contributor for more authors), Language code ("en" for English or "sl" for Slovene), Keywords, and References. Insert Supporting Agencies if needed.
  • Step 4: Confirm and finish the submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  • I, the author, hereby confirm to have read and agreed to the Submission Requirements stated in the “Author Guidelines” section above.

Copyright Notice

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors are confirming that they are the authors of the submitting article, which will be published online in journal Acta Linguistica Asiatica by University of Ljubljana Press (University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts, Aškerčeva 2, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia). Author’s name will be evident in the article in journal. All decisions regarding layout and distribution of the work are in hands of the publisher.
  2. Authors guarantee that the work is their own original creation and does not infringe any statutory or common-law copyright or any proprietary right of any third party. In case of claims by third parties, authors commit their self to defend the interests of the publisher, and shall cover any potential costs.
  3. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  4. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
  5. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work.
