Accessibility Statement

The operator of the University of Ljubljana Press Journals portal is committed to ensuring accessibility of the main website to all users in accordance with the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications Act.

This accessibility statement applies to the University of Ljubljana Press Journals Portal and all of its subpages (https://journals.uni-lj.si/), managed by the University of Ljubljana. The website is based on the Open Journal Systems 3.4 platform, which provides basic support for WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1. According to a self-assessment, the site conforms to level AA.

Non-accessible content

  • Some PDF documents do not have properly marked structure (headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, etc.), which limits effective use with screen readers.

  • In some PDF documents (especially older ones), the language of the content is not specified, which may lead to incorrect interpretation by assistive technologies.

  • Certain PDF files (especially older ones) contain images without alternative text (alt text), which makes them inaccessible to visually impaired users.

We continuously monitor, update, and improve the accessibility of the website https://journals.uni-lj.si/. Some accessibility issues stem from the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). As users, we do not have direct control over all technical aspects of the system, but PKP is actively working on accessibility improvements.
