IZVLEČEKWebometrija, kvantitativna analiza in raziskovanje fenomena svetovnega spleta, je področje, ki ga sestavljajo prispevki s področja bibliotekarske in informacijske znanosti in tudi drugih znanosti. Metodologija in tudi nekatera teoretična izhodišča so naslonjena predvsem na bibliometrijo. Pričujoči pregledni članek predstavlja novejše trende na tem področju in opozarja knjižničarje in druge informacijske strokovnjake na možnosti, ki jih webometrijski pristopi prinašajo za področje evaluacije, tako znanstvenega objavljanja kot tudi različnih bibliotekarskih storitev.
