PARADOKSI BRANJA IN ZNANJA V SLOVENIJI

IZVLEČEK
V pričujočem besedilu želimo predstaviti in umestiti v analizo koncept porabe knjige in slovensko porabo knjige postaviti v evropski kontekst. Pokazali bomo na številne probleme, vezane na evropske knjižne statistike, zaradi katerih je ugotavljanje razširjenosti in uporabe knjige v različnih evropskih družbah zelo oteženo. V tem kontekstu bomo poskušali analizirati bralne navade v Sloveniji in utemeljiti tezo, da je Slovenija glede tega v poprečju evropskih držav, da pa ima precej visoko knjižnično izposojo. V drugem delu članka bomo problematiko branja obravnavali v širšem družbenem kontekstu, tudi v povezavi z vzgojno-izobraževalnim sistemom; postavili bomo tezo, da so v evropskih državah, v katerih učenci dosegajo na mednarodnih raziskavah (Timss, Pisa) najboljše dosežke, najbolj razvite bralne navade. V besedilu postavimo nekaj raziskovalnih vprašanj in hipotez, ki jih bo potrebno preveriti z nadaljnjimi empiričnimi raziskavami.
