Author Guidelines

General Guidelines:

1. Papers and abstracts should be written in English, German, Spanish, French or Italian and include five keywords.

2. Recommended length is 20.000-30.000 characters, including spaces.

3. Papers should be typed in Times New Roman (size 12) double-spaced, except for examples, quotations, references, footnotes and summary, which should be single spaced.

4. Short quotations (less than three lines) should be integrated into paragraph (in quotes), long quotations (more than three lines) must be indented, without quotation marks and single spaced, font size 10. Any modifications to a quote must be placed within square brackets.

5. Punctuation and spacing must adhere to the standard of the language in which the article is written.

6. Bibliography should be arranged into two sections: primary sources and references.

7. References should be incorporated into the main text in short form consisting of the surname of the author followed by the date of publication, and page number: (Kleiber 1992: 276).

8. In the bibliography, entries should be arranged alphabetically by surnames of authors. Multiple publications by the same author should be listed in chronological order.

Formatting guidelines:

  1. The text should employ italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses);
  2. All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end;
  3. Where available, URLs for the references should been provided.

 

Registration:

- on the website http://revije.ff.uni-lj.si/linguistica register and log-in as Author,
- open the User Home tab, choose New submission and follow the submitting process.

Submission of a manuscript:

Step 1: Select the appropriate section; Check off the submission checklist;

Step 2: Upload submission file;

Step 3: Enter Metadata (Author, Title and Abstract, Keywords, References, Supporting Agencies);

Step 4: Upload supplementary file in pdf;

Step 5: Finish submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
