Ovaj više nego impozantni zbomik objavljuje radove (referate, saopćenja) pre zentirane na Savjetovanju HDPL 7-8. svibnja 1999. u Opatiji. Po riječima urednikâ (Uvodna riječ) prezentirano je preko stotinu referata, od kojih je u Zbornik uvršteno. Od toga zaista golemoga broja priloga po dva su na slovenskom, njemačkom, engleskom in poljskom jeziku, ostali (velika većina, tj. 86 = 91%) na hrvatskom. Nažalost, neki prilozi, kako na hrvatskom tako i na stranim jezicima, nemaju hrvatski sažetak, a podaci o autorima ograničeni su na doticni sveučilišni centar. Od tolikoga broja priloga u okvirima ove recenzije nemoguće je, naravno, ne samo izložiti i ev. prodiskutirati sadržaj nego čak i navesti naslove (od kojih su neki vrlo dugi). Stoga se moramo ograničiti na one priloge koje smtaramo reprezentativnima i neizostavnima, što dakako ne znači da su drugi manje vrijedni ili manje važni. Recenzent ovakve pub likacije mora u znantnoj mjeri biti svojevrsni antologičar.
