[ASLEF I, 597, carta 1200] Il Leontopodium Alpinum Cass., stella alpina, e una composita alta 5/25 em., lanosa, con foglie lineari-lanceolate grigioverdastre di sopra e cenerino-tomentose di sotto. E'assai ricercata ed è venuta ad indicare il »simbolo dell'alpinismo«; ha il suo centro di diffusione nei grandi altipiani dell'Asia Centrale e sud-occidentale ed è un elemento delle steppe siberiane. Cresce sugli alti pascoli dei monti calcarei, ma non è rara su suolo siliceo, rupestre. In Friuli è frequente nella zona subalpina e alpina, da 1100 m. (cas. Palasecca) a 2000/2200 m. (cas. Bordaglia, M. Cretabianca, Pleros); più rara nella regione montana e submontana, Gortani II, 438 (che cita i nomi dial. simprivzv di mont e stele alpine).
