Medismen in der 1967 gefundenen xerxes-inschrift?Abstract
Die untere Grabinschrift des Dareios (DNb) gëhort zu den sprachlich schwierigsten und inhaltlich wichtigsten altpersischen Texten.So musste es der Altiranistik hochwillkommen sein, als 1967 eine Xerzes-Inschrift gefunden wurde1), die keine vom Dareios-Grab abge chriebene Dublette2), sondern eine in Inhalt und Sprache weitgehend übereinstimmende Parallel-Inschrift zu dem Dareios-Text ist: die Xerzes-Inschrift ist um einige Sätze kürzer, sie weicht in Wortwahl, Morphologie und Wortfolge gelegentlich von DNb ab, und sie ersetzt den Dareios-Namen durch den Namen des Sohnes. Im übrigen aber haben wir eine weitgehend gleichlautende Fassung zu dem schwierigen Grabtext des Dareios vor uns, die bereits mehrfach geholfen hat, Lücken in diesem zu füllen und richtigere Lesungen zu erkennen.
