De l'origine du mot slovene borjačAbstract
POur le mot slovène borjač ”terre close, clos a.m., jardin (potager), verger près de la maison", connu à la region sud occidentale du territoire slovène, l’ auteur suppose une origine frioulienne, à savoir le vocable bearz (v. Il Nuevo Pirona, Vocabolario friulano, p. 47; ancien frioulien bagarcio, bayarcio etc.) dent la forme phonétique et le sens ne diffèrent que très peu de ceux du mot slovène. Bearz lui-même est d'origine germanique, comp. vieux haut allemand bigards et une forme, probablement francique, sc. bigardio (un peu latinisée) notée déjà au 5 siècle dans le Glossaire de Vienne (pour le. francique bigard et ses dérivés v. w. Wartburg, XVI (1959), pp. 20ss: Bigartium (en 765), Bearcio (en 865), etc.). Le mot frioulien a été emprunté soit au v.h. allemand bigards soit A la forme gothique bigards, suppose par E. Gamillscheg, ou langobarde, supposée par G. B. Pellegrini. Le mot slovène borjač - avec j (pron. y) - fait supposer un emprunt au frioulien effectué seulement apres la palatalisation de la consonne intervocalique -g- en -j-, qui, contrairement au français (comp. pacare > pagare>payer ) s’est réalisée assez tard en frioulien (le siècle). En slovène, le mot emprunté a subi la metathèse de la consonne r, ainsi que la labialization de la voyelle e en o, amenée par la consonne bilabiale initiale b: bejarz, bejartš > bojarč >borjač.
