Una ricerca sullesortidelcongiuntivo neitestiletterari involgare veneto deiprimi duesecoli, incuinascono delle opere aventi pretese letterarie, è giustificata dalla lenta sparizione delle forme del congiuntivo nella lingua parlata odierna, piú sensibile inqualche sferanozionale, dovuta alla crescente incapacità di distinguere, sempre nelparlato, levarie sfumature che condizionano l'impiego del congiuntivo. D'altra parte, se la situazione, nella letteratura contemporanea, è stata già magistralmenteesplorata, per iprimi testi mancaancorauno sguardo d'insieme. Ogni ricerca orientata verso quel periodo sfiorerà di certo la questione dell'influenza della sintassi latinadallaquale non puo prescindere chisiaccinge ascrivere, cresciuto e educato nella grammatical latina. Nello stesso tempo, però, la Jetteraturadialettale, se è lecito ricorrere giaaquesto termine inriferimento a quel periodo, risulta una fonte importante per la conoscenza del volgare regionale.
